Nanjing overview

The ancient city of Nanjing is the capital of Jiangsu province, and lies on the south bank of the famous Yangtze river. Surrounding the temple are many buildings constructed in the traditional Chinese architectural style, with winding markets, restaurants and coffee shops where you can sit by the canal and watch the world go by in this enchanting city.

Getting around Nanjing

Nanjing has a metro system that operates two lines with two different points of interchange. Running from early morning to late evening, metro travel is one of the easiest and cheapest ways of navigating the city. There is also a bus system that runs several tourist routes, as well as a series of night buses that operate around twice per hour outside normal hours of operation. If you’re befuddled by the public transport, you can always hop in one of the many taxis that circulate the city.
