Casper overview
Casper is a great choice for outdoor fans and the city enjoys a magnificent location on the Platte River and in the lee of the Laramie Mountains. Outdoor fans make use of the many hiking and walking trails close to the city, and Casper’s proximity to natural and historical sites like South Pass City, Independence Rock, Ayre’s Bridge and Castle Gardens makes it appealing to all tastes.
The city was on the historic Oregon trail and the ferry from Casper across the North Platte River was also a major part of the route to the California gold fields. Getting around Casper
