Frankfurt Hahn Airport (HHN): www.hahn-airport.de It’s equidistant between Frankfurt and Luxembourg – 120km (75 miles).

To/from the airport: There are rail stations nearby – a bus or taxi ride away. There is a bus stop outside Terminal 2, opposite Exit E9. Taxis are available.

Franz Josef Strauß

Munich International Airport (MUC): www.munich-airport.de is located 28km (18 miles) northeast of the city centre.

To/from the airport: The MVV airport S-Bahn rail link S1 and buses connect Munich International to Hauptbahnhof (the main central station). Taxis are available; the average fare is $50.

Facilities: Restaurants and bars, duty free and other shops, shower facilities and a pharmacy. ATMs and currency exchange desks are available in Arrivals and Departures. Disabled facilities are good; passengers with special needs should contact their airline in advance.

Fuhlsbuttel

Hamburg Airport (HAM): www.ham.airport.de is located 8km (5 miles) from Hamburg.

To/from the airport: HVV runs the S-Bahn (suburban railway) S1 line from the airport station, directly in front of the terminals, to the city centre. HVV Buses stop directly outside each terminal. Taxis are readily available outside all terminals, they take around 30 minutes to the city centre.

Facilities: Restaurants, shops, bars and cafes throughout the airport, as well as banks, currency exchange and ATMs in Terminals 1 and 2. There is wireless Internet access in all terminals. Disabled facilities are good; passengers with special needs should contact their airline in advance.

Langenhagen

Hannover Airport (HAJ): www.hannover-airport.de is located 11km (7 miles) north of Hanover.

To/from the airport: Trains go from the airport to the central railway station and taxi stands are located at the entrance of the Arrivals terminal. An express bus runs between the airport and the central railway station, while bus No. 471 links the airport to Langenhagen.

Facilities: Duty-free shops, Wi-Fi access, restaurants/bars, bureau de change, travel agencies and a nursery and children’s area.

Leipzig Halle
