East Midlands Airport is advising passengers who are set to take flights this summer to be aware of forthcoming events at neighbouring Donington Park.

People either heading to or leaving the airport may face delays or be re-routed as Donington plays host to a number of motorsport competitions throughout the summer.

Traffic management systems and temporary traffic lights could be in place around the airport, on the A453 approach roads and near to Donington Park itself.

The airport is recommending passengers allow plenty of time for travel and if people have booked car parking space on-site they should ensure sufficient time so they can both get to the parking facilities and transfer to the terminal via airport shuttle buses.

Key event dates:

British F3 and British GT Championships: April 21 and 22
Grand Prix Events EuroSeries: May 6 and 7
