Boarding pass … not just a bookmark

Austrian Airlines has turned the humble boarding pass into a hot ticket.

Passengers travelling with the airline can use their boarding pass to get discounts on everything from restaurant meals to museum entry fees on their arrival at their destination.

Nicknamed the “World’s Most Valuable Boarding Pass”, it allows travellers to check out more than 50 national and international entertainment and fine dining choices, along with arts, culture and shopping hotspots for up to ten days after the flight has landed.

Those heading for Vienna can enjoy cut-price visits to the famous Albertina Museum, the Kunsthalle and stunning Belvedere Palace, as well as fabulous meals at wallet-friendly prices.

The Vienna Secession, the Museum of Applied Arts and the Natural History Museum have also hooked up with the Austrian Boarding Pass programme, along with Madame Tussauds, which will fling open its doors for the first time in April.

The boarding pass also allows discounted entry to hotspots all over the world, including the Guggenheim Museum in Venice and the New Gallery in New York.
