A new pillow-cushion-garment makes it easier to catch some Zzzzzzzzzzs whether you’re at the airport, on the train, in the back of a taxi or coach, on a park bench or even at your desk at work…

It’s called the Ostrich Pillow because you can bury your head like an, em, ostrich, and forget about the outside world for a while. Its creators describe it as “a micro environment”.

It’s the brainchild of Kawamura-Ganjavian, an architecture/design studio based in Madrid and Lausanne, and has gained praise from a stellar line-up that includes the likes of Loose Women, the Sun, the Telegraph, Glamour magazine, Perez Hilton, Ellen, the cast of Modern Family and Hypebeast.

“Seeing as we all spend more and more time at work / in front of a computer screen or in transit and less time relaxing, we thought why not create something that helps us recharge. That’s how the Ostrich Pillow came to life.” Ali Ganjavian, co-founder and designer at Kawamura, said.

It’s light, cuddly and compact (and washable!) and perfectly squashable and stowable until it’s needed. The price is £65 and it can be ordered here. Selfridges in London stock it too.
