Two new social media games have been launched in a bid to promote Thailand.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is showcasing two of the country’s most popular attractions through the games, with one focusing on Thai food and the other on the tuk-tuk.

The choice to launch a social media game came about through a desire to attract more young, tech-savvy travellers to Thailand.

The first games, Somtam Sukjai – which can be played on the iPad – challenges users to find ingredients listed on menus as fast as possible.

The second game, Tuk Tuk Racing – which can be played on smartphones and the iPad – users have to drive to a destination as fast as they can.
