Mazatlan is one of Mexico’s top beach resorts but there’s more to this destination than just sun-soaked beaches and luxury hotels. One of the most popular things to do in Mazatlan is to walk the malecon – Mazatlan’s beautiful coastal promenade. Mazatlán climate
The tropical wet and dry climate of Mazatlan, makes October and November the best months to visit. The peak and most expensive season is when the temperatures are at their highest between December and March so expect crowds of tourists and cruise-goers. The off-peak season is between June and August when the weather tends to be very rainy and hotel prices go down.
Getting around Mazatlán
Once in Mazatlan, use any of several car rental options, like Advantage, Budget and Hertz. To get around the city, hop aboard a ‘pulmonia’, the open, golf cart-like taxis that run all over the city. They don’t have meters, but the fares are normally reasonable. You can also find plenty of traditional, metered taxis.
