Peak Season:
Alicante is a year-round destination which means you can book your flight tickets for any period and find cheap prices. It is most popular from May to October. The weather is mainly warm and sunny and normally the place is full of great parties. The 12th of October is a National Day where all the Spanish are also on holiday. You can usually find the cheapest flights to Alicante by either booking well in advance or purchasing your flight tickets for May or October, as this is when the peak season is either just starting or just coming to an end.
Off Season:
The winter months (December to February) and spring time (from March to May) typically have fewer crowds meaning you can normally find cheap flights to Alicante for these periods. The upside of this time of year, other than grabbing a cheap flight, are reduced hotel rates. The downside is a lot of the bars, restaurants and attractions tend to be closed. Whenever you decide to go you should pay a visit to the castle on Santa Barbara hill, on top of Mount Benacantil to get amazing views of the city.

If weather is an important factor for your trip to Alicante, use this chart to help with planning. For those seeking warmer temperatures, August is the ideal time of year to visit, when temperatures reach an average of 26.0 C. Travellers hoping to avoid the cold should look outside of January, when temperatures are typically at their lowest (around 12.0 C).
This varies depending on what airport you are flying from and how strict you are on the dates you travel. At certain times of the year its possible to get the cheapest flights to Alicante by booking just three or four weeks before you intend to travel. That said, if you want to book flights to Alicante during peak season, you’re going to pay a premium. By booking a few months earlier you’re almost certain to find the cheapest tickets. Sit on the right side of the plane if you can. On a clear day, the last 40 minutes or so gives stunning views of reservoirs, mountains and landscapes.
A general tip is to delete your cookies before you start searching for flights as some websites automatically up their prices if you’ve been searching before.

The journey was good on the whole. We had bikes with us so the dedicated oversize luggage lane at PMI was welcome. The flight was great, staff friendly as always. The only thing that lets down the return flight is the immigration at BHX. The separate area used by Jet2 is far too slow, I think we queued there for over an hour compared to generally going straight through or a 5 minute wait with other operators in the main facility at BHX. I know you will say that it's the responsibility of the airport, Home Office etc, but you really need to apply pressure to get this sorted out.

Situated on the Mediterranean coast, Alicante International is an ideal gateway to Spain’s pristine coast. The country’s sixth-busiest airport underwent major renovations in March 2011, including the construction of a new terminal large enough to handle 20 million travellers annually.
The sun-drenched airport offers plenty to do for passengers waiting to board. Between retail shopping and Internet surfing in the VIP lounge, grab a bite at the delightful tapas bar or pose with friends and family in newly installed photo booths.
Flights to Alicante Airport arrive daily from Madrid, Barcelona and other hubs, primarily across Europe. Approximately ten million passengers access the gateway to the Costa Blanca each year. The unparalleled beach resorts attract both low-cost carriers such as Ryanair, easyJet and Air Berlin, as well as full-service airlines such as Iberia.
Alicante’s modern architecture and spacious layout create an aesthetic as refreshing as the holiday you’re bound to have in Spain.
