Emirates Airline, headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is owned entirely by the government of Dubai. It serves more than 80 destinations in the Middle East, Far East, Europe, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Asia-Pacific and North America. Its main hub is Dubai International Airport. The Emirates Group also owns several luxury hotels and resorts in Dubai.
Emirates sponsors football, Australian football, rugby, cricket, golf, sailing and horse racing. It is a partner for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Online check-in opens 24 hours before the scheduled flight departure and closes two hours before.
Check-in desks at the airport close 90 minutes before departure for those checking baggage into the hold or 60 minutes before departure for passengers with carry-on bags only.

Hand luggage: one bag is permitted, not exceeding 7kg weight or dimensions of 55 x 38 x 20cm.
Checked: two bags are permitted, each with maximum linear dimensions of 158cm (length + width + height) and maximum weight of 32kg; except on all flights to and from the USA and Canada, where the maximum weight is 23kg.

Some details such as contact details, meal preferences, requested seats, frequent-flyer number or chauffeur-drive booking can be changed on the "Manage a Booking" page. Beyond these, call the appropriate Emirates office to make changes to bookings. An administrative fee will apply, plus any difference in the cost of the new ticket.

Lap infants fly at a discounted rate. Child fares on some flights are about 80 per cent. The minimum age for unaccompanied children is five.

No pets can travel in the cabin, but they may be carried in the hold depending on the policy of the arrival country. To book pet travel call the airline in advance.

Musical instruments can be carried on Emirates flights in three different ways: in the hold as checked baggage; as cabin baggage; on extra seats in the cabin. All must be booked in advance.

Complimentary hot meals and drinks are available on all flights. In-flight entertainment consists of on-demand video and television with more than 600 channels, as well as sms, email and telephone facilities.
