We scheduled a direct flight from Stockholm to Chicago. Shortly before the flight SAS changed this to an hour flight to Copenhagen on a small cramped plane with no choice of seats, with a transfer there to a regular plane. Boarding in Stockholm was chaotic and unpleasant. My middle seat was tiny and uncomfortable. The transfer in Copenhagen required walking a long distance (they estimated 16 minutes) and going through passport control. The first plane was an hour delayed. The second plane was two hours delayed. The plane to Chicago was not owned by SAS and was not up to the standards I have for business class. The seat was uncomfortable when in take off and landing mode because the back was straight up. It was altogether a difficult and unpleasant experience, as was our trip in the other direction. I will attempt to avoid flying SAS again.
