Some might consider the city in Northern Ireland an unlikely travel destination, but grab yourself flights to Belfast and be prepared to have a blast. It’s a culturally diverse and fantastically positive part of the world. With the “Troubles” now in the past, Belfast stands strong with its rich history and bright future. The Irish are known for their jovial demeanour and with good reason. In Beal Feirste (the mouth of the river Feirste, in Gaelic) you’ll party until dawn and meet some of the most genuine, down-to-earth people on the planet. A great start to any trip is a Belfast Mural Tour. Travelling in a traditional black cab, you’ll see the vivid Republican and Loyalist murals that convey both sides’ history and politics. Head to the Falls Road or Shankill Road to get a good look at what are some of the world's finest gable-end political murals.

When you were planning a flight to Belfast, public parks might not have been top of the list, but there are several beautiful and serene green spaces such as Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park, Ormeau Park and Botanic Gardens. Jot down a visit to the Grand Opera House as a must-do while on your Belfast flight. It’s considered to be the best surviving example of the oriental style of theatre architecture in the UK. The Victorian-era building is a must-see for theatre and art lovers alike. For a pint of Guinness you have to go to the Crown Liquor Saloon on Great Victoria Street. It’s an amazingly ornate pub, a wonderful example of a Victorian Gin Palace. Club-wise, there’s no shortage of places to party the night away. You’ll be booking a direct flight to Belfast when you get home; there’s too much to do in just one visit.
