We all have our pet peeves when it comes to travelling by air. Many we accept as unavoidable parts of the process. For example, the rigmarole of airport security is without doubt a necessary evil. While, being assigned to the middle seat stands as a reasonable penalty for a last minute check-in on a packed flight.

But there are some things that we struggle to tolerate. And few things irritate us more than noisy children. Having received numerous complaints about the whines, cries and conversations of passengers-in-training, Malaysian Airlines has announced child-free zones on it flights between London and Kuala Lumpur.

The airline has placed a minimum age of 12 years for passengers on the upper deck of its A380 aircraft, where there are 70 economy seats and 66 business class seats. So, while relieved of one the most frustrating aspects of flying, 70 economy passengers will still have to contend with a classic airline irritation – business class envy.
