Bristol Airport has introduced self-service check-in kiosks as it moves to accommodate a growing number of passengers.
The regional hub is one of the fastest growing airports in the country and passenger traffic is expected to grow from six to nine million.
To speed things up in the check-in hall, the airport has announced it will switch to the AirportConnect CUTE IT system from air transport IT provider SITA, which incorporates self-service machines.
Alongside 58 CUTE workstations, the eight CUSS (Common Use Self-Service) kiosks will allow passengers to check in for their flight, bypassing the traditional check-in desk. The units also support web check-in, and feature passport and visa readers.
SITA’s Rob Watkins commented: “This innovative solution will improve passenger turn-around times now and as the airport expands.”
Airlines operating from Bristol Airport include Air France, easyJet, Ryanair, GB Airways, First Choice Airways, XL Airways, Thomsonfly and Thomas Cook.
Passengers have a wide range of destinations to choose from, including Alicante, Sharm-el-Sheikh, Lanzarote, Orlando, Venice and New York.
