The majority of Brits surveyed for a new poll revealed that a travel experience was top of their must-do list for their lifetime.

According to the survey of more than 2,000 people carried out by insurance firm Scottish Widows, travel activities topped most people’s ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ wishlist.

Twenty-six per cent of people revealed that their big dream was the travel the globe, whilst nine per cent said a trip to the Caribbean was their goal. The poll also revealed that 11 per cent of people hankered after swimming with dolphins, whilst nine per cent were keen to go on safari.

Olympic medal winner and Scottish Widows ambassador for the London 2012 Games, Roger Black MBE, said, “A once-in-a-lifetime experience is something to aim for and can be very motivating. It’s something that people aspire to do throughout their lives.

“For me, winning my Olympic medal was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It goes to show we can achieve our dreams, if we’re willing to commit enough time and effort,” he added.

Almost half of the 86 per cent of Brits who reported having a burning ambition to do something revealed that they would stretch their finances to the absolute limit in order to have their heart’s desire.
