A lack of air traffic control staff at Stornoway Airport means that flight timetable will be changed over the coming months.

Both Loganair and Highland Airways have said they will be rescheduling some flights this month and throughout March, as airport owner Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd said things were unlikely to improve before April.

Loganair will be delaying the departure of some flights but hopes that any disruption will be kept to a minimum, asking passengers to contact it or their travel agent if the changes are likely to cause a problem.

Equally Highland Airways said its operations would be affected on February 12, 15 and 16 as well as March 3, 5 and 7, saying those customers on these flights have been contacted.
