Airmiles, the travel rewards scheme has introduced all-inclusive fares that will incorporate taxes, fees and charges for the first time.

This means that passengers will no longer have to pay extras on top when they redeem Airmiles for flights with British Airways and other scheduled airlines.

The change was made following feedback from thousands of Airmiles customers, who said that this was what they’d like to see most. It was also found that many customers find airline loyalty schemes confusing, and this move will help.

As well as this, Airmiles has added an innovative new map to its website. It splits the world into seven concentric geographical zones, showing exactly how many Airmiles passengers need to collect in order to travel to various destinations.

People collecting 3,040 Airmiles per year can get one adult standard return BA flight in Zone 3, to destinations such as Athens or Dubrovnik.

“Travelling with Airmiles is now simpler and even better value,” said Airmiles managing director Andrew Swaffield.

“Our customers told us they wanted genuinely free flights for everyday spending and with our new all-inclusive fares there are no more taxes, fees and charges on top.”
