Abidjan International Airport is located southeast of Abidjan on good roads well-serviced by affordable public transport. Also known also by its two more official names, Port Bouet Airport or Felix Houphouet-Boigny International Airport, the facility is a fairly efficient and pleasant gateway to the many charms of the Ivory Coast.

The newly renovated international terminal processes Abidjan flights that carry more than two million passengers annually, and has all the basic amenities an international traveller requires, with the annoying exception of a working ATM.

Terminal Transfer

You can easily walk between the adjacent Domestic and International Terminals.

Getting into Town

Bus: A bus service connects the airport with the city centre, and although very inexpensive, it is best used by backpackers and intrepid travellers due to safety concerns.

Taxis: Orange taxis which charge set fares are your best option; the cost of a taxi to the city centre is around XOF 6,800 (approx. £9); doubling after midnight.

Car Parking

Car parks are provided directly outside the terminals. Casual parking is charged from XOF 500 (approx £0.60) per hour, dropping down a sliding scale to XOF 100 (a mere £0.13 or so) the longer you park. Monthly parking costs XOF 15,000 (almost £20).
