To clear up common travel insurance confusions, the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has launched a new guide.

The online guide provides information on issues such as what is covered by standard policies as well as what some common exclusions are.

The ABI points out that although Brits spent a whopping £18 billion on travel last year, some do not see insurance as important or necessary, despite the sizeable costs that can be incurred in the case of loss, illness or cancellation.

Nick Starling, the ABI’s Director of General Insurance and Health, said, “Hopefully when consumers plan their next trip abroad this guide will help them choose the right policy.”
