Railway engineering works are set to affect train journeys between Luton Airport and various destinations in the London area this weekend.

The amendments will be in force every weekend until May 12, affecting First Capital Connect services but not East Midlands Trains.

There will be no First Capital Connect service across Central London during this period, with a significantly reduced northbound service operating between St Pancras International and Bedford.

As a result, there will be a twice-hourly service in each direction between St Pancras and Luton Airport Parkway, calling at Harpenden, St Albans and West Hampstead Thameslink.

In addition, two more trains will operate every hour between Luton Airport Parkway and Hendon, calling at all stations, with buses operating in both directions between Hendon and Kentish Town.

Luton Airport Parkway and Bedford will be linked by a four-times hourly service, calling at all stations.

Luton Airport has advised passengers to use the London Underground to cross the capital, adding that anyone planning to travel on the affected routes should check www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk/changes before they leave home.
