Search flights to London

Rooftop Film Club, British Airways’ pop-up film event will whirr and sparkle on May 1, giving  the in-flight movie experience much lower than 35,000 feet.

More than 170 films will be screened on roof tops across London such as the Bussey Building in Peckham Rye and the Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch, London, including Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Top Gun, Reservoir Dogs, Casablanca and The Lego Movie.

Saving Mr Banks, the story of how Mary Poppins made it to the big screen will also be screened and, in a neat twist, Mary Poppins is the inspiration for the cinema treat created by Michelin-star chef Simon Hulstone.

He has concocted “Chim Chimney” popcorn that’s a mad mixture of soot*, cheese extract and a spoonful of sugar. It’ll be served at the opening night of the Rooftop Film Club presented by British Airways.

Tickets are available from £13 at rooftopfilmclub.com and the open-air cinema season runs from May 1 to September 30.

* The soot is actually burnt onion ash.
