Offer ends September 30: No-frills airline easyJet is offering a free bottle of Alsace wine to those passengers booking a holiday in the Mulhouse region, and flying from Liverpool.

For travel before March 31, those flying from Liverpool to Basel and booking a hotel through easyJet in Mulhouse, Saint-Louis or Colmar will receive a complimentary bottle.

Passengers simply need to present their boarding card at the hotel reception and will find their free bottle waiting for them in their room.

The area is famous for the Alsace wines produced there, and Mulhouse is known as the European capital of technical museums, with the Cite de l’Automobile, Printed Textile Museum and French Railway Museum.

Basel is one of more than 80 European destinations served by easyJet, which enjoyed a large increase in passenger numbers over the summer.

Partly because of dreary weather that encouraged people to fly overseas, the airline’s passenger numbers for August were up by 17.8 per cent compared to the same month in 2006, to 3.7 million.
