Following its promise earlier in the week to give away one million free seats if its horse won in the Ryanair Chase yesterday (Thursday, March 13), Ryanair has decided to continue its offer despite losing the race.

The airline’s horse, Mossbank, failed to triumph at Cheltenham, but Ryanair announced that it has still released one million free seats for travel in April and advised passengers to book immediately.

No extra taxes or charges need to be paid, except a nominal 1p charge that will be reimbursed. Travel Monday to Thursday, and on Saturdays.

Ryanair has predicted that the tickets will be “snapped up in record time”. Sinead Finn, Ryanair’s Head of Sales and Marketing, said: “Sadly the Ryanair horse didn’t win the Ryanair chase. With one million free seats riding on Mossbank to win, he was jinxed from the outset, so we’ll pay out regardless to thank all the passengers who have made Ryanair Cheltenham’s favourite airline.”
