Travellers are being offered the chance to save up to 50 per cent on hotel rooms as US discount travel site Hotwire moves into the UK market.

Hotwire works by offering discounted “Hot Rates” to fill up empty hotel rooms, sometimes slashing the price by as much as half. The company estimates that around 40 per cent of hotel rooms are empty each night, meaning there should be plenty of bargains to be had.

Hotwire offers Hot Rates for hotels in more than 2,450 cities around the world so will appeal to Brits holidaying at home and abroad. When booking a Hot Rates deal travellers will be given details on the location, amenities and star rating of the hotel, but will only find out its name once it has been booked.

Go to www.hotwire.com to find out more and to book your accommodation for a bargain break.
