Enchanting India … cheaper ways to get around

Travellers off to explore India over the next few months should take advantage of some great deals on internal flights.

Air India, the state-run airline, is offering a selection of cut-price economy class seats on more than 100 domestic flights. Available for booking until 19 May, the flights – which include routes to 23 Indian hotspots departing from Delhi as well as 11 different flights to and from Mumbai – have been described by the airline as “competitive”.

Some of the flights, including the Kolkata to Guwahati route, is on offer at a mere 2,805 rupees (£38) each way. The Bangalore to Chennai route can be picked up for 3,047 rupees (£41) each way.

Air India also offers long-haul flights between London Heathrow and Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai and Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport International Airport.

Visit the carrier’s website at www.airindia.in to get your hands on the fares.
