Low-cost airline easyJet has announced that it will increase the number of flights it runs from the Isle of Man to Liverpool this summer.

The carrier has revealed its plans – which will take the number of flights from six a week to nine – due to strong demand from passengers.

As of 2 June 2011, the new flights will launch on Thursday and Friday at 2.20pm and on Sunday at 5.40pm, departing the Isle of Man for Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The current flights depart the island on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 6.10pm, Saturdays at 5.55pm and Sundays at 6.25pm.

easyJet will also run new routes from Liverpool to the Isle of Man, departing on Thursday and Friday at 1.15pm and Saturday at 2.35pm.

easyJet’s UK commercial manager, Ali Gayward, said, “Since launching in the Isle of Man almost a year ago, the route has gone from strength to strength.

“We have upped the frequency of the service in response to this demand and to cater for the increased number of business and leisure passengers travelling into and out of the Isle of Man over the summer months,” she added.

You can pick up tickets for the new flights – which will run until 25 September – now.
