London City Airport has become the only airport to be ranked among the UK’s top 500 brands by business leaders and professionals.

The hub was awarded the Business Superbrand accolade in recognition of its success in establishing a strong reputation and making an impact on the UK business sector.

With London City being the only airport to be ranked in the top 500, its chief executive Richard Gooding claimed that it was a sign of its popularity with business travellers.

“More and more business travellers are recognising the benefits of London City Airport as it is located on the doorstep of the City and Canary Wharf,” he said.

“This accolade strengthens our position in the business of travel.”

London City was placed at 415 in the Business Superbrand ranking, with other names from the world of aviation to feature in the table including British Airways (ranked 8), Virgin Atlantic (28), Emirates (115) and easyJet (180).

There are currently 11 airlines operating from London City, serving 33 destinations in the UK and mainland Europe.
