Access to Cardiff International Airport will be easier from today (March 11) after the announcement that passengers can now be dropped-off outside the terminal building.

Passengers can also be picked up from the short stay car park, with the first 20 minutes now free of charge for those waiting.

The system will be coordinated by the use of new signs, with those approaching the airport for a pick-up directed into a dedicated lane for the short stay car park, while a second will lead to the drop off area directly in front of the terminal.

“Our aim is to make the airport as passenger friendly as possible, and the new road access is a welcome step forward for the passenger experience,” said Graeme Gamble, director of operations at Cardiff International.

The changes have been made to comply with the Department for Transport regulations forbidding unattended or waiting vehicles outside airport terminal buildings.
