New travel guides focusing on displayed architecture across numerous destinations are bound to be popular among culture vultures.

The new Guides series from OpenBuildings offers downloadable tours of cities including New York, Berlin, Rome and Shanghai.

The guides, which focus on the cities’ best known buildings and locations, also comprise other attractions, such as the famous markets in Istanbul and Mexico’s Route of the Pilgrim.

Editor-in-chief and co-founder of OpenBuildings, Tom Mallory, said, “The launch of Guides today will give travellers and architecture enthusiasts a real source of expert information about the buildings around them.”

“Unlike generic travel guides, OpenBuildings guides also bring the buildings to life with expert commentary and pictures,” he added.
