Last week Ryanair announced that it would start flying to Tallinn, Estonia, from seven airports in Europe including London Luton and Edinburgh. Flights are on sale now although they won’t start until January 2011. Perfect timing; Tallinn is at its most beautiful in the wintertime. Tallinn will be extra buzzy next year – it will share the title of European Capital of Culture with Turku, Finland.

Tallinn is located on the northern coast of Estonia, on the Gulf of Finland. It’s a small city with just 500,000 or so residents and very walkable. Unlike many of the airports that Ryanair flies to, Tallinn Airport
