Worried that your love for theme parks and films could never be combined? Fear not, some clever clogs have already thought about this and developed a whole host of movie-inspired theme parks, sprinkled across the globe. Here are some of the best:

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Forget heading to Platform 9 3/4 at London’s King’s Cross station for some wizardry action and apparate to Florida’s Universal Studios Orlando for some Potter magic. As part of the Isles Of Adventure, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park features some familiar landmarks from the famous books and films.

This includes Hogwarts, the village of Hogsmeade and the Enchanted Forest as well as a Three Broomsticks restaurant.

Avatar Theme Park

It’s official, Avatar Land is on the cards as a deal has been signed between Walt Disney Parks and Avatar film maker James Cameron.

Avid fans of the 2009 Hollywood blockbuster will have to wait a while to enjoy the theme park as construction is not expected to start until 2013.

 Angry Birds

OK, so this isn’t a movie-inspired theme park, but any fan of the quirky little gaming phone app could only dream of what a full-sized real-life Angry Birds-style theme park would be like.

It was only a matter of time before Finland’s biggest export became a theme park (and undoubtedly a film!) and doors will be open this April to the brand new Angry Birds Land.

The theme park will feature game-inspired rides, hopefully with more stability than the wooden blocks used in the game! But if you can’t wait that long there is already an Angry Birds inspired theme park in China.
