Passengers flying with Star Alliance member airlines between now and November will be able to enter a competition to win a dream personalised trip.
The group, whose members include bmi, Singapore Airlines, US Airways and SAS Scandinavian Airlines, offers passengers benefits such inter-airline frequent flyer miles.
To celebrate its tenth anniversary Star Alliance is running a competition to mark the occasion. As well as various monthly prizes, travellers will also have the chance to win the grand prize: a trip for two, created by choosing up to five “experiences” from a list of ten Star Alliance destinations, which include New Zealand and Japan.
The trip will be on first class and will include accommodation, activities, and $5,000 on a pre-paid Visa card.
Star Alliance has also announced a new brand to mark ten years of its existence.
“Alliances are not just about networks, alliances help people to connect on a global scale,” said chief executive Jaan Albrecht. “Therefore I take pride in unveiling our new tagline, ‘The way the Earth connects’.”
As well as this, the group is entering agreements with environmental organisations UNESCO-MAB, the World Conservation Union and Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.
Visitors to the Star Alliance website can use an interactive map showing the 855 global destinations in the group’s route network.
