A holiday with our mates is something many of us look forward to each year, giving us a chance to unwind and have a laugh with the people we’re closest to.

A holiday with friends is something that the vast majority of us have undertaken in the past, but it seems that many are not keen to repeat the experience.

Research has found that 68 per cent of Brits have been on a holiday with their friends in the past, and 27 per cent said they wouldn’t do it again.

It was found that organisation and money (surprise, surprise) are the main reasons for not taking a holiday with mates again.

Of those who wouldn’t go away with their friends again, 34 per cent said it was too much hassle to organise while 29 per cent said it was because they have different budgets.

“On the bright side of things, a group holiday often appears like a nice and cheap option for Britons as you get the chance to spread the cost and reduce the cost per person,” said Mark Pearson, Chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk

“Money is always a source of arguments whatever you do, so I would advise people to make sure they agree on spending, activities and overall budget beforehand to avoid disappointment and arguments.”

He added: “You don’t want a holiday to be the cause of the end of a friendship.”

This has been the case for some holidaymakers, with a quarter saying that disagreements while away had ruined their friendship.

Of those that had a falling out with their friends while away, 36 per cent did so because they had different budgets and disagreed about spending.

A further 28 per cent said they fell out over what to do while they were away, while 31 per cent said they simply did not get on once they’d spent a few days together.

So, if you’re planning a trip with your mates this year, maybe go on a trial run first to make sure you’ll still be friends by the end of the trip.
