US businessman Thomas Stuker has been dubbed the “real life George Clooney” after tucking an impressive ten million air miles under his belt.

Clooney’s character in Up in the Air racked up millions of miles thanks to frequent business trips, and Stuker – who was once scared of flying – has now done the same.

The car salesman – who is based in Chicago – has been rewarded for his efforts with membership to United Airlines’ elite Global Services Programme.

He will now get upgraded to First Class whenever he flies with United, and will even have an aircraft named after him.

Stuker has caught 6,000 flights over the past 29 years with United, meaning that his air miles would allow him to circle the earth 400 times.

“Twenty five years ago I was scared to death to fly, I couldn’t get on an aircraft. It really bothered me. But now it’s evolved to a time where if I go week without a flight, I just feel something is not right,” said the frequent flyer.
