Calling all winos – or those who love a tipple or two – the annual South African wine show is kicking off next month, with over 130 top local wines on offer.

Johannesburg will be hosting the three-day show at its Gallagher Convention Centre in Nelson Mandela Bay from 10 – 12 June. Wines from all over the Eastern Cape will be on display, picked from some of the Rainbow Nation’s finest estates. Visitors to the show can samples the wines, as well as learning how they are made and which grapes fare best in which climates and areas.

There will also be a variety of food stalls on offer to complement the vino, with local South African delicacies to choose from, along with a series of workshops held in the Friends for Dinner Theatre, teaching visitors how to pair wine with different foods for a dinner party.

Buli Ngomane, marketing and communications manager for Access Management, which host the show, said, “The response to the first wine show was absolutely phenomenal and we’re really happy to have the event back at the stadium and in Nelson Mandela Bay. We are confident that it will be even bigger and better this year.”

Day tickets to the South African wine show are available for a bargain 90 rand (£8), while weekend tickets will set you back 150 rand (£13). Check out more information on the show at www.wineshow.co.za/website and search and compare the cost of flights to South Africa via www.cheapflights.co.uk.
