Following reports that Prince William has whisked his new bride off to the Seychelles for their honeymoon, the archipelago is set for a tourism boom.

Wills and Kate took a private jet to the paradise islands in the Indian Ocean 11 days after their nuptials. They were said to be seeking “absolute privacy” following the media circus surrounding their wedding – which was watched by a whopping two billion people across the globe.

Tourism minister for the Seychelles, Alain StAnge, said that he was “delighted” that the royal couple had selected to honeymoon on the Seychelles, but refused to name the island they had chosen.

“They will want some peace and quiet and there couldn’t be a better place for them to find it,” he said.

Wills and Kate first headed to the archipelago in 2007, shortly after their temporary split, so it is said to hold particular significance for them. This trip, they are said to have chosen a private island, where honeymoon villas stretch to a rather royal £4,000 a night.

A source quoted in the Daily Mirror said, “William wants Kate to be completely relaxed and for it to be just the two of them. This is the perfect place.

“They hope to turn off their mobiles, shut out the modern world and reflect. This will be the ultimate relaxing break for them.”
