Other popular Swiss ski resorts include the Swiss Alps, Davos, Grindelwald, Interlaken, Klosters, Verbier and Zermatt.

Austria: The true definition of an Alpine ski destination – Austria. Huge frosted trees line the slopes while quaint wooden chalets are dotted around the hills. Three of the best Austrian ski resorts include Kitzbuhel, Saalbach and St Anton.

Italy: Great food, chic hotels and challenging ski amid the most breathtaking view in the world – this is what skiing in Italy is all about. Among the top Italian ski resorts are Cervinia and Courmayeur.

Andorra: Budget-conscious skiers head to the Principality of Andorra for its affordable accommodation, tax-free shopping and great skiing. The best known ski resort in Andorra is Pas de la Casa.

Bulgaria: Serious skiers who want an affordable resort head to Bulgaria’s slopes. The country has some excellent ski schools, a well-developed ski area and is a good choice for families. The main resorts in Bulgaria are Bansko, Borovets and Pamporovo.

North America

USA: There’s no denying the fact that America has some of the best skiing in the world. Excellent facilities coupled with outstanding service make it a popular destination for all levels and ages. Two of the biggest – and best – ski resorts are Aspen and Breckenridge.

Canada: With guaranteed snow, stunning scenery and some of the biggest and best resorts, Canada attracts skiers and snowboards from all over the world to its slopes. The most popular ski resorts in Canada include Banff, Lake Louise and Whistler.
