Worried a visit to a Thai museum may be lost in translation? Never fear – the Bangkok National Museum is now offering English speaking tours to allow visitors to make the most of the attraction.

From this weekend, Saturday June 11, the museum – which is located in the grounds of the former 18th-century Wang Na Palace – will offer the English tours on Saturdays as well as on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

According to the Bangkok Post, the tours – which are free of charge once you’ve paid the 200 baht (£4) museum entry fee – are carried out by volunteers mainly made up of expats keen to share the delights of their new country with visitors.

The tours – which kick off at 9.30am on Wednesdays and Thursdays and 10am on Saturdays – will allow you to get a glimpse of Thai history from the Sukothai through to the Rattanakosin periods.
