The smartphone is fast becoming the tool travellers can’t cope without – especially with the launch of two new apps for the iPhone and iPad.

The Tours and Activities App for iPhone and Ultimate Experience Guide for iPad from Viator showcase a whopping 9,000 activities, attractions and tours in more than 700 top traveller destinations across the globe. Some of the best include an after-hours tour of the Vatican and a desert safari in Dubai.

The apps also boast last-minute booking, e-vouchers to offer discounts and special offers on accommodation, dining and more, and exclusive deals shown in five different currencies.

President and chief executive of Viator, Barrie Seidenberg, said, “Today’s travellers are more self-directed and less reliant on concierges and stale guidebooks than in the past and our apps … cater to their needs with the added flexibility to find and book tours and activities on the go anytime, anywhere.”

The apps can be downloaded free of charge, so get those fingers moving.
