If weather is an important factor for your trip to Ahmedabad, use this chart to help with planning. For those seeking warmer temperatures, May is the ideal time of year to visit, when temperatures reach an average of 34.0 C. Travellers hoping to avoid the cold should look outside of January, when temperatures are typically at their lowest (around 21.0 C).
It’s wise to book your flights to Ahmedabad at least 2 or 3 months in advance if you can, or if you have the flexibility then book even earlier than that. Being flexible offers you the cheapest flights to Ahmedabad as you can pick and choose the best dates. It also means you can decide which events or festivals you want to try and attend or miss, so being flexible is a bonus. If you don’t have that luxury then make sure you secure your flight tickets as early as you possibly can, especially during festivals, as the price of flights to Ahmedabad will start to soar. It’s hard to know which side of the plane is best to sit on as your views depend on the wind and the weather. If you make sure you are not sitting directly next to a wing and that you have a window seat, you should be treated to a few great views throughout your flights to Ahmedabad though.

Delayed flight a bit annoying but staff all good and surprisingly the main course of vegan meals were good.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, also called Ahmedabad Airport, is located a short drive from the hustle and bustle of Ahmedabad city in the Indian state of Gujarat, serving the cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. It is the gateway to India’s sixth-largest city and the fascinating state of Gujarat.
The airport includes four terminals; the International Terminal (Terminal 2) was modelled on Singapore’s award-winning Changi Airport and opened in September 2010. The roofline of this terminal resembles the kites flown on the banks of the Sabarmati River during the annual kite festival in January.
Ahmedabad Airport mainly serves domestic air traffic, with low-cost carriers such as SpiceJet, Jet Airways, IndiGo and Kingfisher offering inexpensive flights to Ahmedabad International Airport from cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Jaipur. International flights to Ahmedabad Airport include flights from Newark, Dubai, Doha and Singapore.
The airport is particularly busy before and after the Hajj period (which occurs in the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar, differing slightly every year), when the older Terminal 3 is opened for secondary traffic.
