The world's fourth-largest airline in terms of passengers transported, United flies to domestic US and worldwide destinations and carries more international passengers than any other carrier in America.
In Autumn 2009, United Airlines was one of several major US carriers that levied a surcharge of up to $50 (US) (about £30) for flying on busy travel days such as those around Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
United advertises its sale fares on its home page. It also has a news and deals section in which it publishes its special fares. Best of all, the airline has a low-fare guarantee. Book on united.com and if you find a lower fare - by at least £5 each-way by midnight (GMT) on the same day - for the same United, United Express or Ted itinerary, inform the airline and it will reissue the ticket and refund the difference in fare.
