The magical world of Disney has no boundaries. What started as America's theme park has travelled successfully across the ocean to Paris. It opened its gates in 1992 under the name EuroDisney.
Smaller than the resorts at Florida and California, Disneyland Paris is heaven for children, combining theme park rides, hotels, restaurants, shops and the chance to meet their favourite characters. Disneyland Paris consists of two theme parks - the Disneyland Park (five themed lands - Main Street USA, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Adventureland and Discoveryland) and Walt Disney Studios Park (The Front Lot, Backlot, Toon Studio and more).
The park is a short journey from Paris's airports at Orly or Charles de Gaulle, and this perhaps is the biggest benefit of visiting the French arm of the Disney empire: flights to Disneyland Paris take just over an hour, a much more manageable journey from the UK with children than those to America.

- Space Mountain: Mission 2 is the big thrill ride so you don’t need to use your children as an excuse to go on. Other popular rides are Crush's Coaster, Big Thunder Mountain, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
- Do not miss the Evening Parade. If you gather around the steps of Main Street Station, you'll get an amazing view of the fireworks. It goes on until 11pm or so. A wonderful end to the evening.
- The happiest place on earth is not madly busy all year round. Mid-January to late March, mid-April to mid-July and mid-September to the start of December are slower times when you may save on your Disneyland Paris adventure.
- Get close to the characters. Have your photograph taken with Minnie, Mickey and all the others. Honestly, you’ll be surprised how much you love it.

Beauvais-Tille Airport (www.aeroportbeauvais.com) is served by low-cost carriers such as Wizz Air and Ryanair. It's located in Beauvais, 85km (46 miles) north of Paris.
