The Swiss ski resort of Davos is one of the oldest resorts in the Alps. Originally a spa town, today Davos is the base for skiers accessing miles of excellent piste. Linked to its more glitzy neighbour of Klosters, a perennial popular with royalty, Davos is a larger town which means that accommodation can be easier to find and therefore cheaper. Less charmingly attractive than Klosters, Davos is extremely lively, with plenty of good shops, restaurants and nightclubs. But skiers who book flights to Davos are not put off by the rather ugly town. They flock to the resort for its excellent red and black slopes and off-piste – a dream for intermediates and advanced skiers.
All Davos flights arrive in at Zurich Airport, from where there is a transfer by road or rail.
