The annual summer holiday is a chance to relax, unwind and indulge in a treat or two. Whether it’s opting for a dessert in a restaurant or having an extra glass of wine, there is nothing wrong with treating ourselves while we’re away.

But this can lead to a couple of extra pounds when it’s time to go home, and that beach body we’d been working on for so long goes out of the window.

While it’s always tempting to lounge on a beach for a week or two each summer, why not try something different with a more outdoorsy holiday this year?

The UK and Europe has plenty to offer for a more active break and with these deals an outdoor adventure can be kind to your wallet as well as your waistline.

The French Alps

The French Alps is undoubtedly one of Europe’s greatest playgrounds, with a wealth of activities on offer all year round. While many only sample the delights of the Alps during winter, holiday company Adventures In The Alps has plenty of outdoor adventures to choose from this summer.

From white-water rafting to hiking through the wilderness, Adventures In The Alps has it all. Not only that, but there’s a 15 per cent discount off all Family Adventure Holidays in July and August.

Spain

A trip to a European campsite is the ideal holiday idea for families looking for some outdoor pursuits, and Eurocamp is currently offering 15 per cent off a stay at Vilanova Park, Spain, on bookings made before August 10.

With swimming pools, a wellness centre, and sports ranging from tennis to volleyball, there is plenty to keep the kids entertained. If you fancy sampling some city sights, Barcelona is just half an hour’s drive.

Pembrokeshire, Wales

If you’re planning on staying a little closer to home for your holiday this year, look no further than a stay in beautiful Pembrokeshire.

Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire is offering a huge 40 per cent off on both large and small cottages in the area through the peak summer season, for both couples and families.

With beautiful coastlines and rolling hills, Pembrokeshire has some of the most stunning natural beauty in the UK.
