When embarking on a journey from London to Baku you will have a selection of airports in which to leave the UK’s capital city from. While there are flights that leave from Gatwick and Stansted in some cases, your most frequently found flight will actually be from Heathrow Airport (LHR), the UK’s largest and busiest airport. Heathrow, being so widely used and known across the UK, has multiple options for public transportation including the Underground Tube, which leads right to the airport, multiple buses and of course, taxis and Uber. There are several stopover options between London and Baku, all depending on airline and airport. Heathrow favours the Istanbul layover with changeover times that range from 3h 45min to an average of 7h 35min. Let time and budget be your deciding factors. On Belavia Airlines from Gatwick Airport, using Minsk as a changeover point you will average 3h 45min on your stop. When leaving from London Stansted Airport you will use two stops with Istanbul’s layover time averaging 1h 15min but then a longer wait in Georgia of, on average, 11h 10min. The Heathrow flight that sees multiple airlines taking you via Warsaw and Kyiv will see you waiting on average 1h in Warsaw with roughly 8h 24min in Kyiv. The flights to Baku from London are relatively cheaper, if you have the time to spare.
