Hartford is a town that caters mainly for motorists. There are buses, and most stops will see a bus every quarter of an hour or so. Buying a day pass is recommended to get the most value. Otherwise, renting a car is easy to arrange and provides by far the best way to get around.
Getting to the city from the airport
All flights to Hartford land at Bradley International Airport, getting to the centre of town should be easy. The Bradley Flyer is a 7 days a week public bus service which will offer the best value, but there will always be taxis to choose, as well as hotel shuttles (for some destinations). Up-market visitors can even rent a stately limo if they wish.
