Airports across the UK are beginning to resume their normal schedules, after the chaos induced by record snow-falls at the beginning of the week.

The operator BAA, which currently runs seven airports in the UK, did, however, suggest that a relatively small number of cancellations are still expected as an after effect of Monday’s disruption.

In particular, passengers departing from either London Heathrow Airport or London Gatwick Airport have been advised to expect small delays.

Yet, London Stansted Airport, Southampton Airport, Glasgow Airport, Edinburgh Airport and Aberdeen Airport are all open and operating to a near normal service.

In a statement BAA said: “We recognise the disruption has been deeply frustrating for those passengers affected and appreciate their patience during the difficulties caused by these exceptional weather conditions.”

Unfortunately airports in Wales, the Midlands, Lancashire and Yorkshire may experience more delays at the end of this week, with forecasters suggesting that another eight inches of snow could fall.
