Search flights to London

Whether marking an occasion or simply as a treat, shorter trips are an excellent way to experience new cultures and cuisines. Valentine’s Day jaunts, birthday or anniversary trips, stag nights, hen weekends, sporting events, shopping trips and extended weekend breaks at times such as the Easter bank holiday weekend are among the many reasons or opportunities for a city getaway abroad. Cheap city breaks are always in high demand among savvy travellers and are easy to organise once you’ve locked in your cheap flights.

European city breaks are among the most popular, due to the relatively low fares and short flight times. The short flights mean that you spend less of your precious time in the air and more on the ground, allowing you to wring every last drop from your time away.  Booking travel and accommodation separately, rather than an all-in package, often allows travellers a greater degree of control over their trip.

Within Europe, city breaks in Paris are a perennial favourite. The romantic French capital offers cultural delights, dining and shopping opportunities aplenty. City breaks in Rome – another historic destination a short-haul flight away – are also in demand among those wishing to experience the greatest cities of Europe. City breaks in Amsterdam are another must-do. Criss-crossed by picturesque canals, the capital is enjoyed equally by loved-up couples, families and larger groups seeking nightlife on a final weekend of freedom (stags and hens).

UK city breaks are also an excellent choice. City breaks in London, cosmopolitan world city, or city breaks in Manchester, one of the north’s most prominent cities and one with an impeccable reputation for its nightclubs and live music, are popular among those wishing to see the UK’s cultural centres or spend time in new places that require a minimum of travel.

With the availability of cheap flights to USA destinations, city breaks in New York are also very attractive. With increasingly good exchange rates and lower prices for many items in American stores (especially clothes), shopping is just one of many good reasons for a transatlantic jaunt to the Big Apple.
