Paris is one of the great fashion capitals of the world, home to many iconic fashion houses. Along with London, Milan, and New York City, Paris is a leading fashion light.

Slanelle, Eve and Elodie are discussing how Paris can be an inspiring city and THE destination for the most fashionable holidays.

Tell us about yourselves?

Slanelle: I’m 25, a French fashion blogger. I like fashion, of course, but I also love to travel.

Eve: I’m 26 and a freelance web project manager in Paris. I’ve loved fashion for years and started blogging about it four years ago under the name Mahayanna. I use my blog mainly to showcase my outfits, travel tips and anything that I find interesting.

Elodie:  I’m a 20-year-old fashion blogger from Paris. I launched my blog three months ago and I really like blogging about style, fashion tips or anything. I’m also a student in marketing and communication.

What is fashion to you?

Slanelle: It’s a passion. I fell in love with fashion back when I was a little girl. I first wanted to become a stylist as I love the creativity it takes to put an outfit together.

Eve: I like to look for new designers, spend hours in vintage shops hoping that I’ll find unique items.

My fashion style changes every so often because I hate feeling that I’m always wearing the same things. I’d rather experiment and go wrong instead of always playing it safe.

I don’t think anything is ever out of style; you can always find new ways to make an item work, whether you associate it with something unexpected or customise it. It’s not only the clothes though; it’s in fact mostly accessories that I love. They are to me what define an outfit.

Elodie:To me, fashion is a way of life. It’s a way to express myself, to show people who I am. I really like matching colours and materials. There are so many possibilities; it’s like playing a game.

How does Paris inspire your style?

Slanelle:  It inspires me because people are free to dress how they want, especially during Fashion Week! In Paris, I feel like I can dare and try I want.

Eve: I think Paris is not so much a place for eccentricity so in that sense I’m also inspired by cities such as London or Tokyo where I believe you can find more audacious clothing. The Parisian woman is known for her classic and elegant style but I think you can look elegant without being too standard.

Elodie: Paris is such a beautiful city, not just the buildings and the monuments but for its people too. There are so many people with style in Paris, each so different from each other. I can get inspiration from every corner of Paris!

What item you always take with you on holiday?

Slanelle: I always bring denim shorts with me. They’re my go to pieces during the holiday because they can easily be worn with anything, and can be dressed up or down, depending on the situation.

Eve: If I had to pick only one item, it’d probably be a hat as it’s really my favourite accessory.

Elodie: When I go on holiday, I always take my Canon 1100D, I think pictures are the best way to remember the nice times. Fashion-wise, I always take a pair of black pumps because you can wear them with pretty much anything!

Your fashion tip for holidays?

Slanelle: I would advise to bring flats in your suitcase instead of heels! When you’re visiting a city, all you do is walk, so you don’t want to be thinking about how painful your shoes are!

Eve: For your holiday in Paris, sandals would definitely be the item you will use the most to walk around for hours on the beautiful paved streets that are always a joy to (re)discover during summer.

Elodie: Paris is a really cool city; there are so many things to see. So, if you’re planning to visit the city, you should bring a lot of comfy clothes in your suitcase!
