It may have been a pretty mild winter, but we’re still in the mood for a change of season. We’re now into March, so the worst could be behind us.
So it’s time to start looking forward to spring, and the (slightly) warmer weather and luscious green it brings with it.
As springtime approaches, it’s time to say goodbye to bleak surroundings and bare trees. But where are the best places to soak up the greenery?
French Alps
This may have been one of the best ski seasons for years, but underneath all that snow is vibrant green grass – a spring waiting to be sprung.
The Alps are the ideal setting for taking in the spring, offering great walking and cycling, and plenty of stunning views.
Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park in California enjoys its fair share of greenery for a lot of the year. But the stunning views and dense forest will make you forget winter in a heartbeat.
Brecon Beacons
For springtime a little closer to home, the Brecon Beacons offer some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain. Situated in South Wales, the Brecon Beacons National Park draws thousands of visitors every year.
The spring is one of the best times to visit the Beacons, as the rolling green land is covered by a bed of spring flowers.
Black Forest
This wooded mountain range in South-West Germany is perfect for a spring vacation. The dense forest is full of quaint, peaceful villages that blend in with the natural surroundings beautifully.
